Function description - Area Sales Manager

Driving the sales engine in international markets

  • You build strong relationships with key accounts in the United States and Canada.
  • You identify and approach potential customers to generate new business into long-term commitment.
  • You develop and execute the annual sales plan by analyzing B2B pet food trends, driving turnover growth and optimizing profitability.
  • You translate customer demands to the internal teams and communicate efficiently with the different business units.
  • You organize client meetings and presentations to procurement and sourcing teams.
  • You strategically think with customers to identify new business opportunities, product developments.
  • You report to the Sales Director.

Requirements

  • University degree or College degree in a business, commercial, engineering or a technical field ideally in the nutritional or food sciences.
  • You have 5+ years of international commercial experience in roles such as Key Account Manager, Sales Manager, or Product/Marketing Manager—ideally within pet food, food or ingredients industry.
  • Fluently in English. Another language like Spanish is an asset but not mandatory.

  • You communicate easily at different levels and with different cultures.
  • You have strong commercial talent and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • You are a self-starter, ambitious and independent.
  • You have a proven track record of growing territory and increasing B2B revenue targets.
  • You are service-oriented and have good instincts that enable you to answer commercial and technical questions together with internal specialists.
  • You have a hands-on mentality.
